History of Koh Kong Province

With thee Cardamom Mountains in the north, the Dameri Mountains in the south and remote beaches dotting a rugged coastline, Koh Kong is strikingly beautiful. Traveling through the province can be difficult as unsealed roads running through the forest are often washed away and rivers must be crossed on ramshackle ferries. The small town of Koh Kong, close to the Hat lek border crossing with Thailand, is the province’s urban centre-many shops accept only Thai Baht. Attractions include:

- Chamyeam Beach                                       (10km from town)

- Koh Mol Beach                                             (24km from town)

- Kbal Chhay Koh Pa Waterfalls                   (24km from town)

- Ta Tay Leu Waterfalls                                  (16km from town)
